White Falcon Guitar

Designed as Gretsch's awnser to the Gibson Super 400, this was to tbe their top of the line guitar with all the bells and whistles. Taking a bit of the fanciest accessories from each model, Jimmie Webster combined all the best into this super-Gretsch.

Introduced at the NAMM show of 1954, the White Falcon was more of a "see what we can do" concept model than a guitar meant for production. But consumer interest and dealer demand soo changed that; the White Falcon was put into production and the first hit store shelves in late 1955.

Through the years, most of Gretsch's innovations hit the White Falcon first, such as stereo outputs in 1958. By the mid-60's, the White Falcon was so covered with switches, dials, mutes and levers that playing the Falcon became a bit confusing.
