Walnut Stratocaster Guitar

In response to a decline in sales and quality, Fender brought John McLaren and Bill Schultz from Yamaha in to revitalize Fender. Rather than take on the Stratocaster per ce, the two developed two new models- this one and the Gold Stratocaster. Both were unveiled at NAMM in 1981.

This guitar was created by Chip Todd, and was meant to be the top-of-the-line strat, and earned the nick-name "Supert Strat."

This guitar stopped production with the release of the Walnut Elite Stratocaster in 1983.
