Standard Stratocaster Guitar

In late 1981, Fender (CBS)'s new crew at the top (John McLaren and Bill Schultz) got around to revamping the basic Stratocaster model. First and most importantly, quality had to be brought back into the line. The previously year had seen a 10% reduction in sales, and a massive increase in dealer complaints. So in came Dan Smith and gone are the tilt neck and large headstock in this back-to-basics "Smith" Stratocaster.
